About Habicat Cafe
I’ve never heard of a cat cafe. How does it work?
The Cafe
First, the main entrance leads into the cafe with comfortable seating and large windows to view the cats. Our cafe offers a variety of refreshments including coffee, tea, hot cocoa, sodas and individually packaged sweet or savory snacks. It's also where you’ll find cat themed toys, gifts, and unique apparel.
The Habicat Lounge
Next, the Habicat Lounge, where guests can lounge, cuddle and play with adoptable kitties. The cat's area is specially designed with comfort in mind for both cats and people. Sitting on the floor on one of the soft shaggy rugs is encouraged. Loose cat hair is minimal, because we vacuum the room several times each day. And there are two HEPA air purifiers always running to keep the air fresh and practically odor-free. To help keep our kitties happy and calm, we limit the number of visitors allowed into the Habicat. There is a small entry fee, and waivers are required.
How do cat visits work?
We currently have two options for visits, one hour or thirty minutes. Walk-ins are welcome!
Advance reservations are not required, but we do limit the number of guests allowed in with the cats. Booking online in advance is the best way to avoid a wait, especially for larger groups. Both options require each person to have a completed waiver, so please arrive a few minutes early.
Cat Lounge Visiting Options
-
1 Hour = $15 per person (Book online, or walk-in based on available space)
-
30 Minutes = $8 per person (Walk-in only, no online booking available. Based on available space)
-
Waiver(s) Required for all guests
-
Suggested: Reserve online to secure your space, no disappointment if the Habicat lounge is fully booked. Especially recommended for groups!
Are reservations necessary?
We don't REQUIRE reservations, but they are highly encouraged. It is the only way to guarantee we will have a spot for you when you get here! Without a reservation, there may be a wait for cat lounge entry.

Minors (under 18) must have a Release and Indemnification Agreement signed by an adult on their behalf.

Ages 15-17 are allowed without an adult, but MUST provide a completed waiver and a copy of the responsible adult’s ID.
Where do you get your cats?
We've teamed up with the local shelter, Rabun Paws 4 Life. Habicat Cafe serves as a foster and is able to house and care for up to 12 cats at a time. Each kitty is microchipped, vaccinated, on preventative medication, and has been spayed or neutered. Should you wish to adopt a cat or cats, we are happy to help.
I love my cat. Can I bring it?
No. I am sure we would love your cat too, but please don't bring it! By law, we cannot allow him in... and then he would be sad, and we don't want to see your cat sad.
I found a cat or kittens. Can you take it or them?
By law, we are not able to take in cats. Please contact your local shelter, or Rabun’s Paws 4 Life to see if they can help!
